![]() ![]() The new take on the teenage couch potatoes comes less than 10 days after Comedy Central became the home of Jodie, the adult animated series that is a spinoff of Daria, which itself was an offshoot of Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head. “We are thrilled to be working with Mike Judge and the great team at 3 Arts again as we double down on adult animation at Comedy Central,” said Chris McCarthy, who oversees ViacomCBS’ entertainment and youth group as president. “Beavis and Butt-Head were a defining voice of a generation, and we can’t wait to watch as they navigate the treacherous waters of a world lightyears from their own.” But until now, that was the last anybody had heard of the project.'Daria' Spinoff, Starring Tracee Ellis Ross, Lands at Comedy Central The revival would also include multiple spinoffs and movies. In 2020, Comedy Central announced that it ordered a second revival of the show, which would target the Gen Z demographic. It wasn’t until 2014 that Judge spoke about the possibility of reviving the duo once again, but MTV was not interested. The series also featured the first appearance of Daria, who would go on to star in her own hit show also on MTV. In 2011, the duo were back in an official eighth season which consisted of 22 episodes. The movie followed the boys on a road trip journey to find their stolen television, and later on “score,” all while being chased by the FBI! The film was a commercial success, with a budget of $12 million and earning $63 million at the box office. The popularity of the show naturally lead to 1996’s Beavis and Butt-Head Do America. As one of MTV’s highest-rated shows at the time, Beavis and Butt-Head would continue to wreak havoc on MTV from 1992 all the way through 1997 with seven seasons.
